HP's Daniels: Cloud development expanding Internet functionality

At a conference Thursday in San Francisco, Hewlett-Packard's chief technology officer for cloud services, Russ Daniels, called cloud computing the Internet's next generation, highlighting the similarities between the two technologies. Although the Web started the collaboration trend in IT, Daniels said, the cloud allows users to share data and information across multiple systems so that it can be accessed by different applications and services.
