After "chomping at the bit" for weeks, a Missouri boy finally got to fly a glider solo on Thursday, his 14th birthday. "To me, airplanes are a whole lot cooler than driving," says Dillon Barron, who is now a third-generation pilot. Grandfather John Barron, who flew the tow plane on Thursday, says Dillon has been actively flying powered aircraft since age 7, though always with an adult present. John says flying is "probably one of the biggest single bonds" that the Barron family shares. "Some families love to hunt. We like airplanes."
