High-income people with no taxes jumped 80% in 2008, IRS says

The number of high-income taxpayers who had zero liability for income taxes increased almost 80% between 2007 and 2008, the Internal Revenue Service reported. More than 18,700 taxpayers with at least $200,000 of adjusted gross income paid no income taxes in 2008, compared with about 10,400 the year before and just 60 in 1977.
