$70M CSX project to provide direct-route access in Ind.

A $70 million CSX project to replace a 100-year-old rail bridge in Columbus, Ind., is expected to provide the Class I with direct north-south access in the state. The project is a partnership with Louisville & Indiana Railroad. Using the short line's tracks after repairs are made will ease traffic congestion on other CSX lines and lead to faster rail shipping in the Midwest, according to CSX officials.
