AAFP says House spending plan could hurt primary care

A fiscal year 2014 funding plan for labor, education and HHS programs adopted by the House Committee on Appropriations could hurt primary care by reducing funding for physician training and research, AAFP Board Chair Glen Stream, M.D., said in a letter to committee leaders. Stream said the committee should instead adopt a Senate proposal with higher spending caps.
