Antiemetics, heart meds included in FDA's updated watch list

The FDA has included on its quarterly list of products to monitor a class of antiemetic treatments, including ondansetron, due to possible links to serotonin syndrome. The agency also added metoprolol succinate, a beta blocker used to treat hypertension, heart failure and angina, following reports of ineffectiveness. Appearance on the watch list does not mean that a risk has been established, the agency advised.
