API kicks off meetings to review onshore drilling standards

The American Petroleum Institute kicked off meetings to review and update its standards for onshore oil and natural gas drilling safety and reliability on Tuesday. Congressional staff and regulators joined more than 600 scientists and engineers for discussions. "Safety is, and always has been, a top priority at API," said Jack Gerard, API's president and CEO.
