Boardman: Amtrak can work with Senate's proposed funding level

The Senate's proposed $1.45 billion budget for Amtrak in fiscal year 2014 is feasible and "workable," and a continuous flow of federal funding is important for the railroad "to reach its full potential," says Amtrak CEO Joseph Boardman. The Senate "recognizes the need for federal investment to operate and maintain the Amtrak national network, and to keep the Northeast Corridor the safe and reliable economic engine that it is today," Boardman notes.
