Domestic ethanol output rose last week; inventories slumped

American ethanol producers churned out an average of 885,000 barrels per day of the biofuel last week, up 1.4% from the week before and the most since the last week of May, according to the Energy Information Administration. Supplies of the biofuel dropped to 16.3 million barrels, down 1% from the week before, the EIA said. Ethanol imports dipped 42% to 38,000 barrels per day, the agency said.
