IDG and LinkedIn build community with sponsorship options

IDG Communications has been chosen by LinkedIn to create a set of technology discussion groups on the LinkedIn Groups platform, which will allow companies to be exclusive one-year sponsors with ads, sponsored content and limited information on group members. LinkedIn is also offering six-month sponsorship deals that direct a group's focus, but these are designed for groups associated with marketing campaigns and not the single-topic technology groups.
