India regulator discusses deadline for Westinghouse deal

An official from India's Department of Atomic Energy has offered input on the deadline set by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for the completion of a commercial deal involving Westinghouse Electric and state-owned Nuclear Power Corporation of India. "The commercial agreement between NPC and Westinghouse will be possible only after both arrive at a consensus on the capital investment, financial mechanism and the per-unit tariff [rate] for the power to be generated and supplied" by the reactor project at Mithi Virdi, the official said.
