Korean carrier, Samsung team on world's first LTE-Advanced system

LTE-Advanced technology has shown signs of coming to the fore with new developments from South Korean carrier SK Telecom and T-Mobile US. SK introduced its LTE-Advanced network today in Seoul saying the pioneering system supports download speeds of up 150 megabits-per-second using a redesigned version of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S4 phone. T-Mobile Senior VP Dave Mayo told an industry event on Tuesday that the carrier "will begin rolling out LTE-Advanced features later this year" but declined to offer more specifics on its plans.
