Ohio city council eyes alcohol tourism to revamp area

The Cincinnati City Council has approved a plan to redevelop an ailing section of the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood into a thriving brewery district to capitalize on alcohol tourism. Over-the-Rhine was home to a historic brewery district, founded by German immigrants in the 19th century, but has since declined. Three companies are already brewing in the district, and with a streetcar set to open in 2016, business owners hope the neighborhood can shake its dangerous reputation.
