Think tank sharply lowers Taiwan growth outlook

Citing a disappointing first half, Yuanta-Polaris Research Institute lowered its 2013 growth forecast for Taiwan to 2.47% from its March outlook of 3.65%. Yuanta-Polaris President Liang Kuo-yuan noted stagnant real wages and poor prospects for private consumption but said a rebound in exports could provide some momentum in the second half of the year.
