Abu Dhabi's Etihad to buy 49% of Italy's Alitalia

Etihad Airways, which is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has agreed to pay €1.25 billion for a minority interest in Italian flag carrier Alitalia. Italian Transport Minister Maurizio Lupi said the investment will be staged over four years. Etihad will get 49% ownership of Alitalia, which has been losing money.
