Bank stress tests need early Fed involvement, Tarullo says

Surprise results in bank stress tests should be rare, Federal Reserve Governor Daniel Tarullo said. Tarullo pledged to get the central bank more involved in the evaluations, starting with a yearlong process for big banks. He said Fed regional supervisors should be clear and knowledgeable about issues with risk controls and deliver any message early in the evaluation process.
