Researchers create organic battery to aid reliability at power plants

06/26/2014 | Gizmag

University of Southern California scientists have designed a battery to be used in power plants that is organic and water-based. The batteries are cheaper to produce and can sustain 5,000 charge-discharge cycles before degrading in performance, whereas lithium-ion batteries start degrading at 1,000 cycles.
