Carl A. Cohn rejects D.C. schools chief job

Citing prior work commitments and noting he now lacked "the personal courage" to take over Washington, D.C., schools, even with the one-year contract he had originally requested, leading candidate Carl A. Cohn backed out of the running last Friday. School Board President Peggy Cooper Cafritz said the board soon will decide whether to start the search for a new superintendent anew.
