FDA approves OraSure's hepatitis C test

OraSure Technologies announced that it secured FDA approval for OraQuick, a test that can spot antibodies to the hepatitis C virus using a patient's blood sample. An analyst for Needham & Co. said the FDA could approve an oral fluid test version of the company's OraQuick this year.
