Look on the bright side -- but not too much

Only optimists are any good at innovation, writes Jeffrey Phillips, since it takes a huge amount of confidence to turn pie-in-the-sky ideas into real-world products. That confidence can prove problematic when it's time to evaluate an innovation's market potential, though, so Phillips recommends keeping a few pessimists on hand to make sure everyone stays grounded.
