Study urges use of natural gas until more renewables reach market

The U.S. should use more natural gas as a "bridge fuel" to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions until more renewable-energy sources reach the market, according to a study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Using natural gas turbines instead of coal-fired power plants would reduce U.S. emissions by more than 10%, the two-year study found.
