Delta expects second-quarter profit despite challenges

Delta Air Lines said it expects the April-to-June quarter to be "solidly profitable" despite persistently high fuel costs and other challenges. The carrier has been able to cover the increased fuel bills by bolstering airfares and cutting other expenses.
