Japan's Yamaguchi prefecture says no to nuke plant construction

Chugoku Electric wants to reclaim an area of sea in the Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan so that it can build two nuclear reactors. However, the area's governor turned down the application, saying, "So far, the national government has failed to clearly show its nuclear energy policy and improved safety measures at nuclear power plants. Amid such uncertainty, we can't initiate the construction of any such plant."
