Coal industry to counter Obama's climate-change agenda

Several companies from the coal industry plan to join forces with other business groups to counter the effects of President Barack Obama's climate agenda on coal-powered plants. "The world will continue to consume fossil fuels at an increasing rate in the coming decades regardless of potential unilateral action by the United States," says Consol Energy CEO Brett Harvey. Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead also touted the importance of coal in the U.S. energy portfolio, and in the economic growth of his state, the country's largest coal producer.
