Facebook to stop some wall posting, recruits Android users

In response to negative feedback, Facebook will prohibit the use of application-programming interfaces to post stories on the walls of users' friends, asking developers to use feed dialog instead. Other changes expected to be implemented in October include native apps' requirement to use operating system software-development kits to initiate login with Facebook. In addition, Facebook is recruiting users to test its Android apps. "This is the first time we're really looking at providing a public view into these pieces that we're really not sure about yet, not just the parts that are refined," says Mike Shaver, Facebook's director of engineering for mobile.
