Farm-law extension is possible as Congress keeps at bill

While some Senate leaders oppose the idea, lobbyists say they expect Congress to extend the 2008 farm law, as lawmakers wrangle over a farm bill. Items including trade, conservation and farm programs are covered in the bill that the House defeated last week. "The House had better figure out a way of getting a farm bill to conference, so we can get a bill to the president," said Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.
