The bipartisan Lautenberg-Vitter chemical reform bill "may be the last, best chance for [Toxic Substances Control Act] reform for years," writes former Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Christine Todd Whitman. The bill "goes a long way toward fixing the problems with the current law," she adds. "What those who oppose this bill fail to realize is that the alternative is not a different bill. It is no bill at all."
