Researchers eye smaller molecular transistors for electronic devices

A group of Danish and Chinese researchers have produced a single-molecular monolayer transistor into a graphene-oxide enabled electronic chip in a system that could become a basis for developing smaller and lower-cost electronic devices. "An advantage of using molecular components is that molecules can be designed and tailor-made to provide a range of interesting functions with tunable properties," said Kasper Nørgaard, a chemist from the University of Copenhagen and author of the study.
