Scientists come up with multistage chemical synthesis from 3D printers

Researchers at the University of Glasgow in Scotland have developed reactors, manufactured from a 3D printer, that enable a three-stage organic synthesis and can be rotated to produce various materials. "The code, like opening a safe, would be in the rotation," said Leroy Cronin, leader of the project. "The 3D platform allows for the reproduction of a reactive system in any laboratory that has a 3D printer," said Filipe Vilela of the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Germany.
