Senate votes 68-32 to overhaul immigration

The Senate passed a bill creating a path to U.S. citizenship for millions of immigrants and requiring massive tightening of measures to prevent people from improperly crossing the border with Mexico. All 52 Democrats, two independents and 14 Republicans backed the measure; 32 senators opposed. It now goes to the House, where its fate is uncertain.
