Verizon looks ahead after completing LTE network

Verizon Wireless said it has become the first carrier to essentially complete the build out of its Long-Term Evolution network, having reached 500 markets and 99% of its 3G footprint. With 95% of the U.S. population able to access the 4G network, Verizon said the carrier will turn its sights toward implementing voice over LTE technology, known as VoLTE, in all of its markets simultaneously next year. The company said it plans to introduce an all 4G phone in 2014 after it deploys an advanced wireless system spectrum, which is aimed at freeing up LTE capacity in dense urban areas.
