Verizon looks ahead after completing LTE network

Verizon Wireless says it has become the first carrier to essentially complete the build-out of a Long-Term Evolution network, having reached 500 markets and 99% of its 3G footprint. With 95% of the U.S. population able to access the 4G network, Verizon says it will turn its sights toward implementing voice-over-LTE technology, known as VoLTE, in all of its markets simultaneously next year.
