Nursing workforce on the rise in the past decade, according to HRSA report


The Health Resources and Service Administration reports that the U.S. nursing workforce increased by more than a half-million registered nurses in the past decade. RNs are more educated and more diverse -- 55% have a bachelor's degree or higher, and one-quarter are nonwhite. As nurses' roles change and grow, HRSA says it will continue to track key indicators because of the importance of following these trends as the health system evolves.
