Weight gain among elderly overlooked, experts say

While obesity among adults and even children received heightened focus, the problem is going largely unnoticed among the elderly, particularly those in retirement communities, experts say. Yet, with three usually large meals a day and often little or no exercise, older people are especially prone to weight gain, and the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure that go along with obesity can be particularly life-threatening.
