Beijing Olympics, U.S. election to power ad growth in 2008

The Beijing Olympics and the U.S. presidential contest should help the global ad market grow by 6.4% next year, according to a forecast from Aegis Group's Carat. The agency also projects a 5.1% increase in the U.S. this year, a slight downgrade from previous estimates, but still much stronger than a 3.1% growth projection from a forecaster from Interpublic Group's Universal McCann.
