Polls show progress on LGBT issues

A new crop of opinion polls reveals major progress on many LGBT fronts. Among the results: A majority for the first time believes a person's sexual orientation cannot be changed, according to CNN/Opinion Research; a New York Times/CBS News/MTV survey reports younger Americans are more likely to support equal marriage rights; and three in four GOP voters queried believe people should not lose their jobs on the basis of sexual orientation.
