Businesses mark Take Your Dog to Work Day to spur canine adoption

Businesses across the country on Friday observed Take Your Dog to Work Day by letting the pets spend a full day by the water cooler. The campaign seeks to raise awareness on the bond between humans and dogs to promote canine adoption among employees. Studies have shown dogs can help curb workplace stress, said a spokeswoman for Pet Sitters International, which started the annual event in 1999.
