More Americans than ever are tuning in to watch the World Cup, and retailers are reaping the benefits. Retailers offering licensed soccer-related goods have seen an uptick in their sales, according to NRF's vice president of retail operations, Daniel Butler. "There's potential down the road for this to be as big as the Super Bowl," Butler said of the World Cup.
