Will Twitter Places take location mainstream?

Twitter's location service, Places, could be the force that finally propels location-based networking into the mainstream, writes Jennifer Van Grove. The service also dovetails neatly with Twitter's Promoted Tweets marketing program, so location-targeted advertising could also get a big boost from the service. "Location-sharing ... is prime for a breakout moment. Twitter can help take it there," Van Grove writes.
