Executives from major corporations offered five principles for managing risks during a session at a CFO Network conference. Risks increasingly come from unexpected places, the group said, which means finance chiefs need to broaden their outlook and consider a range of threats. CFOs also should take a leading role in promoting ethical conduct in their companies. "I think the integrity of the financial system within a company really begins and ends with the CFO, and without that integrity, really, the rest of it just falls apart," Pep Boys Chairman Bob Hotz said.
