Business owner boosts revenue by becoming a brand

When a friend suggested Judith Mackin, founder of three businesses, turn herself into a brand, she was initially hesitant. "I was super uncomfortable with that," she said. "Who am I? Ellen? Oprah?" But the move has been a success, leading to a doubling in revenue at her companies, which provide marketing, event planning and other services. "I'm telling you, the difference was unbelievable," she said.
