Face transplant patient enjoys anonymity

Richard Norris, who received a face transplant last year, no longer endures strangers' stares or cruel comments when he goes out in public, and he hopes his story will inspire courage and empathy in others. Plastic surgeon Eduardo Rodriguez led the University of Maryland Medical Center transplant team that restored Norris' teeth and jaws, as well as part of his tongue and his entire scalp to the base of his neck. Norris has learned to eat and talk again, is pursuing a degree in information systems and would like to start a foundation to help future transplant patients.
