Lenders that target service members draw scrutiny from federal watchdog

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has ordered U.S. Bank and Dealers' Financial Services to refund $6.5 million to more than 50,000 military personnel, citing failure to disclose fees and other information associated with loans. The order stems from an investigation into a subprime auto loan program that operated near military bases.
