MIT's new "Wi-Vi" technology has X-ray vision

MIT engineers have invented a wireless system that can inexpensively detect moving objects in the next room, saying that the "Wi-Vi" technology can be embedded into smartphones or other mobile devices to figuratively see through walls. MIT Professor Dina Katabi described potential uses for the technology including search-and-rescue and law enforcement missions. Consumers could deploy Wi-Vi for personal security, Katabi added.
