Regulate equity markets to spur investment, U.K. official says

Sarah Hogg, chairwoman of the U.K. Financial Reporting Council, says equity markets in Europe should be regulated so long-term investment is promoted. She also notes equity markets' critical role in economic recovery. "Equity markets are shrinking before our eyes," Hogg said. "But risk capital is essential to business, fueling investment and economic growth, generating jobs and wealth for future generations."
