News that an eighth-grade student and football quarterback has received an offer from UCLA has raised questions over whether such acts -- while relatively rare -- place too much pressure on the student-athletes. "I think it's a crazy amount of stress on the kid," said Coach Hal Wasson of Southlake Carroll High School in Grapevine, Texas. "Football is a game that puts pressure on the kids. Athletics is pressure. You compound that stress with it in the eighth grade."
