WiSee system detects movements around the house

Technology developed by researchers at the University of Washington takes gesture detection and activation a step further with a system that can detect and monitor a person's movements at home. The WiSee system is expected to allow more seniors to age in place safely. "This is repurposing wireless signals that already exist in new ways. You can actually use wireless for gesture recognition without needing to deploy more sensors," said lead researcher Shyamnath Gollakota.
