Commentary: Do organic foods offer significant health benefits?

Although organic foods entered mainstream supermarkets in 2000, with more than half of the $7.8 billion of organic food purchased in regular grocery stores, it is still unclear whether there is a significant health advantage to eating such foods, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The lack of definitive research is partly due to the cost and complexity of logging the data, columnist Sally Squires writes.
