What comes next for TV advertising?

Cable and satellite networks may dispense with advertising altogether, a scenario ClickZ columnist Sean Carton thinks is not far removed from reality. Technologies such as VOD allow providers to strike lucrative deals with sponsors for targeted programming, which could put paid to the traditional TV ad paradigm, he suggests, although such a move may be five to 10 years away.
