Inhaled insulin may replace needles for some diabetics

Sufferers of Type 1 diabetes, which number 1 million to 2 million in the U.S., may no longer have to use needles for their pre-meal insulin shots according to a new study that shows an inhaled form of insulin is as effective as injected insulin in controlling blood sugar levels. The full study will appear in the July issue of Diabetes Care, an American Diabetes Association publication.
